  1. Prepare a dish that will serve 5 people.  Bring to class.
  2. Hand write (or type) the recipe.
  3. Write a 150 word appetizing description of the dish using all five senses.  Include an environment (place) where you envision the dish being eaten (scene snapshot).  This should be written on the bottom half of your paper.   Turn in two copies.
    • Include all five senses.  Three of the five senses must be used twice.
    • Use two similes.
    • On one copy of the description: label the senses where used and circle two similes.
      sight, sound, smell, taste, touch
  4. Return this cover sheet signed by you at the top and your parent below.
Parent and Student Note:
It is critical that the students prepare the dish without assistance.  Following a recipe teaches students the importance of writing clear instructions or details that someone else can understand.
Their struggles with cooking will be a positive experience for future assignments this quarter.  Thank you for allowing the student to do this activity independently.
