Example of revising a draft. Make all revision changes on the draft itself to monitor the meta-cognitive decision making involved in the process.
The image below demonstrates an acceptable level of revision notation for students. If multiple pages, not every page will resemble this but should have some degree of revision, especially a first draft. Note that the example is a third draft. There are relatively few errors. Most changes made were to improve the existing piece.
