Step Three: Prepare and do a 5 to 10 minute PowerPoint presentation
(Timeline: After a 2 day PowerPoint workshop, 5 days for preparation plus 3 days for presentations)

  • Explain why your field trip should be selected.
  • Describe the benefits of the field trip  based on Cultural and Economic value.
  • Teach the class a concept that will help them to better appreciate the experience.
  • Include additional pictures, brochures, and/or other primary documents that will enhance your presentation.
  • The PowerPoint file should include:
  • A strong advertisement devise and organizational style.
  • 8 to 15 slides total
  • Title Slide and Credits Slide with © date
  • Annotated bibliography slide or linked MS Word link.
  • Minimum of 50% of slides should have a relevant image
  • Copyrighted pictures may only be used if a team contacts the business in writing and receives permission in writing.
  • Background color on all slides
  • Transition between all slides
  • Sound and video are optional (must be relevant)
  • Minimum of one related link plus two Michigan travel links
  • Link to presentation transcript.
  • Button arrows in the bottom corners of each slide to go forwards or backwards.

REMINDER: Purpose of a PowerPoint presentation is to enhance what you have to say, not take the place.  Think of it as a visual outline of your ideas--a guide for you and your audience.
